I am extremely grateful that the AI beat became a beat. For my past three jobs, my job title was AI reporter. And now I'm associate editor for enterprise AI. But I wonder how long this would last ... why isn't it just folded into the general tech reporter, tech editor job? And I feel like it's starting (to happen), because I've always believed that at some point everyone's going to be writing about AI.

We're going to start seeing a lot of companies suddenly shed their agentic programs. And we're also going to see some companies really grow it. Because I think we're going to start seeing companies realize that we've been spending way too much money on something we don't really need. And the hype is dying down because there's a lot more concern around this.
